Purpose: This research aims to investigate the complex interplay between Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Job Satisfaction (JS) among the employees of the Imam Reza Mehr Fund in Gilan Province. Furthermore, it examines the specific role of Political Skill (PS) as a critical factor that potentially influences or mediates this relationship in a professional financial environment.
Design/Methodology/Approach: This study utilizes a descriptive-correlational research design. Data were collected in 2025 through standardized questionnaires (Goleman for EI, Ferris for PS, and Minnesota for JS) distributed among a statistical sample of employees. A total of 185 valid responses were analyzed. The research hypotheses were tested using a mediation-based regression model to determine the direct and indirect effects of variables.
Findings: Preliminary analysis indicates a strong positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction. Moreover, the results suggest that employees with higher political skills are better equipped to translate their emotional intelligence into higher levels of workplace satisfaction. Political skill acts as a significant bridge, allowing individuals to navigate organizational complexities more effectively.
Practical Implications: The findings provide strategic insights for managers in financial funds, suggesting that recruitment and training programs should focus not only on technical expertise but also on developing emotional and political competencies to enhance workforce stability and morale.
